Still Kicking

Hey Fam,
I hope you all are in great Spirits! I want to apologize up front for my lack of Blogging. I am again playing catch up with everyone’s Blog! So, where did I leave off?!?!? oh Yeah, the September Challenge.

Ya’ll I have been working it out with this Challenge and though I am not seeing a huge drop on the scale, home girls clothes are falling off…I love….Loooove my Aero and Pink (by Vicky) Capri sweats. These pants were always tight in the legs and ok in the waist. Now……. Your girl has to roll the waist and this is with tying the string tightly and the legs look as if I’m wearing Hubby’s sweat pants. So am I happy with these results? Hell Yeah! I am finishing up with the September Challenge and rolling right into another one, anything that keeps me motivated and focused on the task ahead.

This New Challenge is called “Shades of Brown” it starts on Monday September 26th and I’m excited about it. What I didn’t know when I signed up was that it was going to be a team effort. Ya’ll I can’t tell you how competitive I am, I know myself. I am going after every point that’s offered up. I just have to set my mind that not everyone is like that and to control myself. I met some of my Teammates through cyber space and must say I am so far very please with my group. Reading their profiles they seem very dedicated and hard working! I’m really excited to be paired up with such an Amazing group of ladies.

My workouts have been the Bushman workouts, JM’s Killer Buns and Thighs, Running/Walking, Ab Ripper X and for the SoB Challenge we have to select certain workouts each week. So I am going to stick with this until I become comfortable with the workouts!

Thank you for hanging in here with me and I hope you all are meeting your goals and killing your workouts. Have a great weekend and keep on Pushing! Much Love!

September Challenge

Hey Blog Fam!
I hope everyone is doing well. I have been reading Blogs more than updating as you can see but, I am still on point. Not, with juicing but, with my healthier lifestyle. I will revisit the juice diet later on during my journey and especially when I get a real juicer.
So, what have I been up to you ask?
I’ve joined my girl Crystal, who is a HUGE inspiration to me. This girl is a BEAST when it comes to working out and her weight loss journey is an AMAZING one. Since I need all the help I can get I decided to join her in THE ALTSOBANIAN WARRIORS September Challenge over at Myfitnesspal

It involves:
-          Not going over your allotted calories in the day
-          Drinking 64oz + of water per day
-          We also have to do these insane workouts on top of the workouts we’ve already planned for the day. These are our Challenge Workouts and we have to do them 6 Days per week.
-          Weigh in every Sunday

Challenge workouts are like this every other day:

Week 1 Challenge consisted of the following:

Day 1 - 50 Squat Kicks, 50 Jumping Jacks , 50 Crunches, 50 Mountain Climbers, 50 Wood Chops and 50 Globe Jumps!

Day 2- 2 sets of 15 Swimmer’s Presses, 2 sets of 21’s, 2 sets of 15 Dumbbell Chest Fly’s, 2 Sets of 15 Lawnmowers, 2 sets of Tricep Kickbacks, 2 sets of 15 Shoulder Shrugs (weighted)

Weeks 2 Challenge consisted of the following:

Day 1 - 5 minute bear walk, 50 Toe Touches, 50 Crunches, 100 Jumping Jacks, 50 Burpees, 20 Windshield Wipers, 50 Split Squats

Day 2 - 3 sets of 15 Swimmer’s Presses, 3 sets of 21’s, 3 sets of 15 Dumbbell Chest Fly’s, 3 Sets of 15 Lawnmowers, 3 sets of Tricep Kickbacks, 3 sets of 15 Wood chops, 20 Pushups

Day 3 is the same as Day 1 and Day 4 is the same as Day 2 and so on.

My Workouts for September so far are:

September 1st: Insanity Pure Cardio, Insanity Cardio Abs, Jackie Xtreme Timesaver, PLUS Day 1 of the Challenge. (see above)

September 2nd: KenpoX and JM’s Yoga Melt Down and Day 2 of the Challenge.

September 3rd: Spin Bike (60 Mins) No Challenge

September 4th: REST

September 5th:  JM’s Burn Fat Boost Metabolism and Day 1 and Day 2 of the 1st weeks Challenge

September 6th: KenpoX & Day 1 and Day 2 of Weeks 2 Challenge + 150 Squats.

Today: Insanity Cardio, Insanity Cardio Abs and Day 3 of Weeks 2 Challenge.

Oh and did I tell you I am doing this all without my heart rate monitor?!?!?! Sucks royally! I have shipped it off to get the battery changed b/c it would stop calculating my heart rate during mid workout. So, I am really missing it! :o(

I’m all over the place with the Challenge workouts b/c I was doing them on my own and when I found out they needed 2 more members I decided to join in last night. So, I’m all caught up on this Challenge and looking to do some major damage in collecting MEGA points. I have been trying to get some running/walking in but, it’s been raining since Sunday. I will keep you posted.

Take care Fam and thank you for reading! Have a great week and Keep on Pushing!

1st Week of Juicing Fast Done

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did! Today I start day one of Week 2 of the Juice Fast. I first want to tell you all about Week 1.
1st of all I had trouble drinking the Bolthouse Smoothies all day everyday and had to switch it up on day 3, it was too sweet for me and started making me nauseous. I used Coconut water and mixed fresh fruits such as strawberries, bananas and pineapple with 2 tablespoons of Flaxseed, which was pretty good.
Now I’m going to be honest with you some days I cheated with a handful of trailmix or 5 saltine crackers with sea salt. Not too Bad but not exactly all juicing. The weekend was an overall Juicing FAIL:

Let’s Talk Numbers:

My current #'s
Weight: 182.8
L&R Arm: 11.75
L&R Thigh: 24.75
Waist: 37.5
Stomach 40.5

Week 1 Numbers:

Weight: 187.8
L&R Arm: 12.5
L&R Thigh: 25
Waist: 37.5
Stomach 42

So, that’s a total of 5lbs down (which could have been more if I juiced over the weekend)

L&R Arm: -0.75 (off of each)
L&R Thigh: -0.25 (off of each)
Waist: 37.5 (SAME)
Stomach: -1.5

I’m okay with these results being that I wasn’t 100% on it, this week I will continue juicing and will now be able to work raw foods in and not forgetting lots of water!

My Workouts for the Week:

Mon- Walk/Run &1 on 1 with Jackie Upper Body
Tues- Jillian Michael’s Burn Fat Boost Metabolism & RI30
Wed- Walk/Run & Yoga
Thurs- Kenpo X & Jackie Xtreme Time Saver
Fri- Walk/Run & RI30
Sat- Rest
Sun- Walk/Run & Abs

It's been one week without coffee AHHHH that’s Banana’s!
I hope everyone is doing well and thank you my new readers for joining me in this crazy weight loss adventure of mine.

Have a great day and Keep on Pushing!

Much Love!

Update!!!!

I can’t believe I’ve haven’t updated in over a month. SMDH!!!! Last night I just got back from my 2 week vacation in St.Maarten and needless to say I have to kick things up a notch and a half. I weighed in this morning and I am up 10lbs. Tom is here and I am hoping some of that weight gain is from his visit because, I really can’t see myself gaining 10lbs in 2 weeks. I’ll be honest, the first week of vacation I was eating what I want but, I also worked out 4x that week. Now the 2nd week I ate what I want and didn’t workout at all. So, Yes I believe I am warrant a gain in some form or fashion but, I WILL NOT Digest a 10lbs gain!
Today I am back on clean eating and working it the hell on out. Friday I will see where I’m at and go on from there.

Monday- No Workout (Damn Shame)
Tuesday- JM’s 6 Weeks Abs, RI30 Level 1, 40mins Run/Walk

I have so many Blogs to catch up on, I hope everyone is doing well!

Take care and will catch up with you all soon!

RI30/Hot Yoga/WKND Tracking and ECT....

I hope Everyone had a great weekend! Tomorrow will end my week 1 of “Ripped in 30”
The workout is definitely on point and I love some of the new cardio. I have been pushing myself to do every last set of each move. Though I am not going to front, every strength training movement she does includes some type of lunge or squat and to be honest the lunges are killing my knees. So, I do the same upper body movement JM does but, the lower body work I steal from Jackie’s DVD. I also do sumo squats because, it’s less stress on my knees and it really works my inner thighs which need it! J

Hot Yoga = Heck Yeah!
I’ve heard some great stuff about Hot Yoga from my Blog Buddies Ro and Haneefa and have searched high and low for some classes out here by me. Of course there are none given out here in my area of PA so I took the drive to NJ and did a 90min class. OMGeeee!!!! First off in the 1st 5mins of the class my head started dripping. I was able to 90% of the moves and thought I was going to pass out when I hit 30mins. I was thinking to myself “If this woman (instructor) does one more chair pose I am going to pass the “F” out” I was so happy when she had us lying on the floor and doing some crazy ass poses. I was able to do them and she said I was doing well but, once I got on the floor I didn’t want to get up. I loved the cool down and drank 16oz of water before the class, 24oz during the class and 16oz after. I was sweating from everywhere, my shins were even dripping. I am definitely going back again.

Weekend Tracking:
I did okay with this, I didn’t track everything because, I was snacking so dang on much! I really need to control my weekend eating habits. I do so well during the week and when the weekend comes around its like POOF!!!! Everything is out the window. This is a struggle for me and I am definitely going to keep working on this.

My Friends who left feed back on my last post. Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I know from the looks of things we all are going to fulfill our Summer Goals! Much love to you All!

Oh, and this week I am featured on Josie’s Blog from Yum Yucky sharing what Fitness means to me. So check it out!

Last Weeks Workouts:
Mon- Upper Body Strength Training and Run/Walk 45mins
Tues- RI30 and Run/Walk 45mins
Weds-RI30 and JM’s Yoga Melt Down
Thurs- RI30 and Kickboxing
Friday- RI30 and Zumba
Sat- Hot Yoga
Sun- REST

Here’s to making this week a better one! Thank you for stopping by and stay tuned because, it ain’t over until it’s over!

Ripped in 30

Yesterday started my “Ripped in 30” by Jillian Michael’s program. I leave for vacation on July 22nd and wanted to keep my mind on track. Day 1 was yesterday and I think I am going to enjoy this program a lot. Jillian is bubblier and really focuses on technique; she really guides you through the workouts which I really like.

My Goals:
-          Cutting Cheat Day’s out and replacing with a cheat meal 1x per week (if any)
-          Log my food on Weekends
-          Working each Level for 6 days

My Workouts:
Mon- Ran/Walk 3miles and Upper body strength training
Tues- Ran/Walk 3 miles and Ripped in 30
Wed- Ripped in 30 and Yoga Melt Down

My Measurements: (HORRID but, it’s real)
-          Right & Left Arm: 12.5
-          Right & Left Thigh: 24.5
-          Waist: 39.5
-          Stomach: 41.5 (passes out)
-          Hips: 42
-          Chest: 39
-          Weight- 186.6

So, you see I have a lot of work to do but, I’m eager to get started.

What are your Summer Goals?

Holla Back!

I’m Making Myself…..

FIT! Over the weekend I was stalking “Nike Women’s” YouTube page and I was truly inspired and motivated. These girls really go all out in their workouts which made me really evaluate my workouts and question myself.
Do I put the effort into my workouts? Do I really push myself beyond fatigue? Am I counting the seconds until this workout is finished?

To be honest, I don’t push myself beyond fatigue ONLY when it comes to running. This weekend after doing the 6th week of C25K run, I normally walk some hills for a cool down but, this time I did short sprints. Your Girl can move! J But on the real, it felt so good to move that way, to feel my heart rate sky rocket. If I don’t hear my HRM screaming, I don’t feel as if I’m pushing myself hard enough. I think this is the only question I FAIL at so my focus from now own is to “Push Myself Beyond Fatigueduring every workout I do even……. Yoga!!! I was hanging with Jillian during those Chaturanga Push-ups….I wanted to quit so many times but, I just giving myself “the” pep talk. I finished it. My arms were screaming, my legs were on fire and my heart was thumping fast but, I didn’t die. So, my question to you is: What are YOU Doing to Make Yourself?

Happy Friday: Weigh In

Happy Friday Fam!
Today was my weigh in and I have officially kicked it up! My Ticker "to the left, to the left!" is moving and in the right direction. Okay, I lost only 1.6lbs this week but, it was the 1.6lbs I needed to get me back on my "A" Game! Everything I now lose will count. Thank Goodness!

SW May16, 2011=191.6
Current Weight = 185
Almost 7lbs in 26 days (Almost 4 weeks) I can live with that. Now I just have to keep this up and I will be reaching my Mini goals!

Today's workout:
-Jillian Michael's "No More Trouble Zones"
- Run/Walk 45mins (C25K) week 6.
This was much better for me. I actually felt good and was able to run a bit faster. I think I'm going to stick with this next week and maybe the following week.
I hope you all had a fabulous day and make it an AWESOME weekend!

Keep On Pushing Ya'll!

Kicking Butt......

Wut up Fam?
I don’t know where everyone out in Blogland is but, out here in the “Boonies” PA is Hot as a Mutha Fugga! BUT the heat has not deterred me from reaching my goals. It didn’t melt my determination of GET-TING IT IN!!! Yesterday, I did P90X Arms/Shoulders and after work I ran/walk 3 miles, early evening where it was a bit cooler, not that it was cooler, just supposed to be for the time I started. For the life of me I could not keep running. My body or maybe my mind was telling me to stop running and to slow it down. It didn't help either that I spotted a wild turkey. I saw the sucker from a mile away. I paused my IPOD because, I don't wear earplugs....too busy listening and looking out for wild life bear. That turkey had me running on my toes so, I wouldn't be slapping the pavement all loud and shit. My HRM was beeping out of control from the fright. All I could think was, "If this Mutha Frigger comes after me....I would be his supper because, I was beat and wouldn't be able to do nothing more than a trot to get away from his a$$." I made it past him in one piece and was able to complete 3miles and the amount of walking I did probably equaled to a mile.

So check this! Since this running for 2.5 miles or 25 mins of the C25K week 7 isn’t working for me. I am taking it back to week 6 where a run for 5mins, walk for 3, run for 8, walk for 3 and then run for 5mins. I think I’m going to do this for another 2 weeks, granted I won’t finish the program and doubt that I’ll run the 5K without stopping but, hope I will do better on my time.
As for today I had a 1 on 1 session with Jackie doing the Xtreme Timesaver. I can’t stress enough all the goodness that goes on in this DVD…my shoulders and arms are going to be super fly when I get through this DVD without taking mini breaks here and there! I then went to my Kickboxing class and worked up a sweat and burnt an extra 460 calories. During the class the instructor asked me what type of martial arts I did. I stated proudly nothing but Kenpo X and some Taebo (Not that I do Taebo anymore b/c it doesn’t get my heart rate up) but, it made me smile!

You Guys make sure to take in lots of water because, your body needs it. Don’t let little things get in your way. When you really don’t feel like working out, just do it! You’re bound to find the energy once you start and will feel great afterwards!
Keep on Pushing Ya’ll!

Weekend = PURE Success!

Happy Tuesday! So, glad Monday is over. I hope everyone had a Fabulous weekend. I was fighting a cold last week which ran into Saturday but, on Sunday I was refreshed. Hubby and I got a 3mile run/walk in early, which really felt great! I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed running with him. He makes me push without saying a word. He isn’t over weight but wants to lose some poundage and build more muscle. He does nothing for a work out but, play B-Ball here and there. Why did this MoFo keep up with me running? I glanced over at him to see if he needed a walk break because, I know I surly did and he was in his own world trotting away. So, being that he kept on going…..so Did I! Once we ran our first mile we walked for a minute and continued on to the second mile and walked a minute and we ran half a mile for the 3rd and walked the last half. When I got home I did Jackie’s “Xtreme Timesaver”. Over all a great workout and I loved running with Hubby, “Thanks Boo!”

We also had a wedding to attend and I am HAPPY to report I mad smart choices. For the cocktail hour I had water with lemon, some seasoned string beans and other green stuff I had no clue what it was but, it was green so I ate it, 2 tiny little patties with beef inside and a plate of fruit which was on point. For dinner I had the salmon which was so Damn Good O.M.G. also string beans, carrots and 1 potato plus the salad they served before the main course. (This salad had cranberries in it, I never ate cranberries in a salad but, I really liked it) Then I danced, danced, danced. My dress was falling off of me, it was supposed to be above the knee, and sleeves were to be on the shoulders. My strapless bra kept falling, not sure if it was just too small or what. This was my first time wearing one and the only reason I wore it was because, my sleeves kept falling. Ughhh a Hot Ass Mess! Tips on strapless bra are always welcome. Here are some Pix!

It’s Tueday Ya’ll Let’s Get it IN!!!!!
Workouts:
Monday: Kenpo X
Tuesday: Running/Walking & Jackie Xtreme

Have a Great Day and Keep on Pushing!

T.G.I.F.

Happy Friday Ya’ll! I hope everyone is doing great out in Blog land. I have been fighting this cold for the pass couple of days but, am keeping it moving. I am still drinking 2 Slim Fast Shakes a day, 3 healthy snacks (mostly fresh fruit and trail mix with lots of almonds and dried fruit) and 1 meal of 500 calories or less and at least 12cups of water. I am feeling great on this plan.
This morning I weighed in at 186.6lbs…that’s .6 away from where I was in Jan 2011. I will knock that off by next week for sure…

SW May16, 2011=191.6
Current Weight = 186.6
5lbs loss in almost 4 weeks….it’s not bad for TOM being here. Remember I mentioned his arrival 2 weeks ago when I ran my 1st 5K? Well I was only spotting and Tuesday he finally was in full affect...Punk!

As for my Workouts:
Monday- Rest (I was shock to see no workout was done when I checked my log)
Tuesday- Ran 2.7 miles and did Jackie Xtreme Time Saver (This DVD is the business)
Wednesday- Ran 2.6 miles and did the Biggest Loser Cardio Mix (Level 3 is Killer)
Thursday- Kickboxing Class
Friday- (I was going to rest being that I’m not feeling all that great but seeing that I missed Monday’s workout I will do something light)….Maybe walk and Yoga Melt Down.

I have a wedding this Sunday to attend and I tried my whole outfit on…. why is this dress too big? I love that feeling YES!! But, I want it to look right just for the wedding and then it can go back to falling off of me! Ya know what I mean?

Have a Great Friday and Keep On Pushing!

Running Another 5K and My Meal Plan

So, as you all know I am still catching up on my Favorite Blogs and have so many new ones to read. Reading Haneefa's Blog Blog has got me wanting to Run, Run and Run some more. So, I went ahead and signed up for another 5K on the 4th of July.
Now, being that I hadn’t completed the C25K program I was thinking of starting on Week 6, which will give me 4 weeks to complete the program and 2 weeks to run 3mile practice runs. This past Sunday was my race, I ran yesterday and check this out…I ran 2.8 miles in 28 minutes. So, I am feeling confident that I can shave some time off of my 1st 5K race. May God spare any injuries, sickness and terrible weather!!!! I’m going to do it. I will run tomorrow and instead of walking and running the minutes given I am going to aim for the miles.

It will normally look something like this:
-Walk 5mins at a Brisk pace
-Jog a half a mile or 5mins and so on….so in reality I can jog for 5 mins but, it doesn’t mean that I jogged a half mile. Ya Got me?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, check this out….my Hubby comes home with a crap load of SlimFast and he’s been following the plan. So, to be supportive I told him I will do it with him. The difference is he drinks only the shakes every 3hrs and nothing to eat. Phssst Not Me Boy… I drink 2 shakes, eat 3 snacks and a 500 calorie meal and I feel great doing it. I started my 4th week today!!
After reading up on Ro and watching her cooking Vlogs has me wanting to try new meals because, I am no cook. I can cook to survive and that’s it. So I was so HAPPY to find this recipe with Sautéed pineapple, red and green peppers and turkey meatballs…um umm ummmmm!!! I went out to get some of the missing ingredients and will cook it this week. Thanks Ro….You Da Bomb Ma!!! Oh and I am also so proud of how well you did on your 30 Day challenge. ::High 5::
Gett’n Dirty:
-Yesterday’s workout was a 2.8 mile run and I walked some. I also did Abs & 3 sets of arm exercises with weights and 200 squats.
-Today’s workout was P90X’s Kenpo X.
-Tomorrow’s workout will be Running week 6 of the C25K and a P()X strength video, probably shoulders/chest/Triceps.
I can’t thank ya’ll Ladies enough, you have truly inspired me and keep me motivated. I thank you ALL for reading and fear not to comment, I love hearing from you guys and will be passing by your spot soon. So, bear with me!
Keep on Pushing Ya’ll!
Much Love,
~Leelee~
I Did It and I’m……..
Still ALIVE!!!! I ran my 1st 5K in 40 mins on the dot. I know! I know! I need to improve but, that was my goal, to run it in 40mins. Oh, and to not come in last. I am definitely going to run another one in July. I am going to start the C25K program on Tuesday starting from Week 1. Thank you Ro, Haneefa and Josie for the feedback, I took your advice and made it through. So, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you sooooo Much! For real!!!
Photobucket
So, let me tell you the details….1st thing, I tried to get in bed early last night, which I did (at 7pm) can you say “Too Dang on Early?” I was up reading Blogs & watching Vlogs (Thanks Ro for the entertainment you are so Funny, had me cracking up). I fell back to sleep at 1:15am. Got up at 5am & was out the door at 5:45pm. The race was in Jersey about a 2 hr drive. I make it way ahead of time and had to use the bathroom baaaad! The school was locked. So, I drove over to the park and thank goodness the bathroom was unlocked. After taking care of business guess who comes peeking his Ugly ol head? Um Humm….T.O.M. Just great, my 1st 5K, shin pains and now T.O.M.
T.O.M. was here but, he didn’t stop my flow. I did my thing anyways. But wait here’s the Best part of T.O.M. being here. I weighed in and hadn’t gained any weight and my stomach wasn’t bloated. I actually look good around the middle. (Still have a long way to go but, getting there) So, I can’t wait until he’s gone so I can weigh in….I hear a loss coming on. Well at least I hope.
After the race I went to Whole Foods. Mind you, I’m not a regular shopper at Whole Foods because, I don’t have one near by. But, being that I was in Jersey I stopped in. Can I ask you all what do you buy in there? Like what are things to buy in Whole Foods that you don’t get in other stores? Please share because, I was in there looking at stuff with the “WTF” look on my face and it didn’t help that that ish is so expensive. So, I didn’t want to be picking up stuff just because. I ended up getting some green tea, Jasmine Rice, sweet potato fries and some fresh baked bread. I don’t know why because, I rarely eat bread…. I guess because that was the only thing on sale. Ya’ll Holla at me because. I really wanna hear your feed back.
I hope you all are having a great weekend. Keep on Pushing!
P.S. I want to thank my new readers for joining me on this crazy weight loss journey of mine. I see you!!
1ST 5K and...................
I'm a Nervous Wreck!
I have my 1st 5K this Sunday and I am going bananaz over it. I am losing sleep over this mess, which is crazy. I think I’m feeling this way because, I know I haven’t completed the C25K due to me being sick, weather delays and my foot injury but, most of all because, I know in my heart I won’t be able to run the whole thing. Is that bad if I can’t run the whole thing? Will others look at me with the side eye for walking when I’m tired? Is it against the 5K rules?
I am very competitive and I’m not sure I feel this way because, my friend who’s a runner is doing it with me and I know she is going to whup my tail and leave me in the dust. She runs 3 miles almost every day for the past year. She should leave me in the dust with the training she has, right?
For anyone who ran their 1st 5K or did anything that terrified the mess out of you, how did you get through it? For 1st 5Kers did any of you have to walk? What did you think about to keep your mind off of being out of breath and from dropping down and almost dying?
As you all know I am catching up on everyone’s Blog and came across Alexia's post over at dimplesnatcher. It was very informative and it was comforting to know she felt the exact same way I am feeling right now. She mentioned or maybe it was a comment someone left for her about my brain is going to tell me to stop way before my body wants to. How do I get past that? How do I push my body through that notion of wanting to stop because, my brain is telling it to? Any suggestions or feed back on this is greatly appreciated.
Today’s Workout:
-          30 Day Shred Level 1
-          35mins of Spin. ( I would have ran but, of course it’s raining Cats and Dogs over here) SMH!!!
Have a great evening and Keep on Pushing!!!
M.I.A.
Hey Blog Fam,
I know I have been Missing in Action and I really do apologize for leaving my Blog Fam. without any rhyme or reason as to why. With my weight loss journey, all of the workouts, clean food shopping, preparing meals, handling things on the home front, working my J.O.B (Just over broke), keeping up with my Blog became like another job for me. I just felt overwhelmed with everything. So, I decided to stick with my workouts and stop Blogging about it. I hope you all can forgive me, I thought about you guys so often and hoped that all was going well on your Weight Loss Journey!
I have been still sticking to eating right and working out, I even stepped things up a notch with my workouts. I reevaluated things after the New Year rolled around and with all of the ups in downs in my weight, I’ve ONLY LOST 23lbs! To me that is horrible, 23lbs in a whole year?!?!?!?
So, I adjusted my weight loss to the correct number and have been struggling to keep the number moving down.
So, check this….my job started a Biggest Loser Contest, so around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday’s I decided not to really worry about working out and watching what I ate because, I wanted to gain weight for the contest. BIG MISTAKE!!! Wrong thing to do!!!! Yes, I gained some weight maybe 6lbs over the 2 months. Not that bad right? Well, when the contest started in Jan I was losing my already gained pounds and it was steady week after week until I hit a plateau. I readjusted my workouts and eating habits and that number has kept going up. The last time I weighed in I was at 186lbs and that was on Jan 22, 2011. It is now May 16, 2011 and I am still up.
I started training for my first 5K run which is on Sunday the 22nd. I started the C25K program which was working out for me but, with all the snow we had in March and April really messed me up with my training. I had to resort to other workouts. I then got strep throat and was out for a week. I finally got over being sick and was back at it and then over did it one day and hurt my foot. I tried everything to get my foot right, I stopped running and rode the bike, I iced it, massaged it, I did NO RUNNING at all..after a week I tried running and reset my progress. So, 3 weeks later I started running again and my foot hurts a little after the run but, icing it always seems to help. But I was out of commission for 5 of the 9 weeks. So, now the 5K is here this Sunday and I am only on Week 6 starting tomorrow. L I went running with my girl on Sat and the park is only 2.5miles. I was struggling badly. It seems as if I ran better last summer without the training. I just might have to walk some of the race when I can’t run anymore.
I definitely will be doing the C25K training again because, I really enjoyed it and it wasn’t boring. I actually looked forward to doing it. How are my other runners out there doing? I was really hoping to shed some of this fat by running but, I will have to try again.
Workout:
P90X- Chest/Triceps/Shoulders
30 Day Shred- Level 1.
Beginning Weight May 16th = 191.6lbs
Goal Weight by July 16th= 179lbs
I know I have to push really hard but, I am taking no prisoners. This has gone on for too long! It’s time I buckle down and get a hold of this weight loss thing!
I have so much catching up to do and thank you guys for checking in on me during my hiatus! I hope all of you are doing well and will definitely catch up on your Blogs! Take care and Much Love!
