I Feel Real Good!!!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! I am so happy the weekend is almost here. I am ready to take some pix in my new skinny jeans that in the waist are too big but, I won’t return them because, I want to wear them on Saturday night. Crazy right? I know! I will wear a belt! Saturday night Hubby and I are going into the city to celebrate our friend’s birthday and then I am taking him to a comedy show that he has no idea about! I have been doing everything right and though I haven’t been jumping on the scale to see my work, I just know it’s all good because…… I feel real good! I feel lighter, look thinner and my clothes are fitting really good!
I am finally focused. I’ve been sticking to eating clean, getting my water in and working out. I’ve finally taken my workouts to the next level. Meaning, I no longer am satisfied with a 30-45min workout burning 400 calories. I want to see 60mins + and that I have accomplished all this week but, yesterday. I did my first workout on my lunch break and was supposed to get one more in after but, had to go food shopping. To me that was more important because, without my eat goods in the house I am setting myself up for failure. 


Wednesday: JM’S No More Trouble Zones

Thursaday: P90X Arms & Shoulders, Spin & Insanity Cardio Abs
Time: 97 mins (1hr 37mins)
Calorie Burn: 840

Question to those of you that use a Heart Rate Monitor while working out, Do you find yourself being obsessive with your calorie burn oppose to the type of workout you had?

I’m speaking with my girl about this and I was ranting on and on about how my Wednesday workout was crap because, I didn’t have a high calorie burn. Now, I felt every move during that 49 min workout and my arms, shoulders and abs were on FIAHHHH!!! (Wendy Williams) She also made a great point about us not even worrying about how many calories we burnt before, when we used to work out. We just worked out and knew it was a good one. So, with that said I will no longer stress over my calorie burn. If I feel my workout was a good one then I am completely satisfied!
Tomorrow, if it doesn’t rain, my two friends and I are going running! I get so excited when I am going to run, I have no idea why because, I literally feel as if I’m going to die. So, I’m crossing my fingers for nice weather tomorrow. You guys have a great evening and I will be Blogging with you soon!

Shred It Or Dread It!!!!

Hey! Hey! Hey! I hope everyone is having a Fabulous day start of the week thus far! I am back with a review of Jillian Michael’s “Shred-It with Weights”. I tried this workout yesterday and was highly disappointed. It’s nothing and I mean nothing like her regular Shred DVD. That’s what I was expecting…. Only with weights! The only thing this DVD is shredding is my pockets. I so wish we could take it back! Actually I think I’m going to look into returning it.
I am definitely not doing this workout for 30 Days so I am back to the drawing board with a 30 Day workout plan.


Monday: Shred it with Weights + Spin
Time: 60mins
Calorie Burn: 500
(In the 25 min workout with JM I only burnt 185 calories…Pathetic I know!)

Tuesday: P90X Chest/Back + Jog/Walk
Time: 79 mins
Calorie Burn: 740
(I did okay with the run. I did a lot of walking up the hills but, was happy that I just got up and did it!)

Wednesday: Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones + Insanity Cardio Abs
(Details will follow)

I think I’m going to do cardio with a mix between Yoga and Abs on Mon/Weds/Fri and P90X Strength Training on Tues/Thurs with a run. P90X has the best Weight lifting DVD’s and I can rotate them each week.
Saturday I will do what ever I am in the mood for and hopefully it’s something! J
I am happy to say that my eating has been on point. No slip ups, no bad decisions, using proportions and getting in my veggies and fruits!
I am up on my water game averaging 15 cups per day.

This weekend is a friend’s birthday and we are going to BBQ’s for dinner and then I’m surprising my Hubby with a comedy show after. I am going to do a high cardio something and will eat clean as a whistle for breakfast and lunch in case I am bad with my ordering. I don’t think there is anything healthy at BBQ’s but, I will look up a menu before I go.
Sunday I am going to the Farmers Market with my friend who I go running with on Friday’s! Speaking of which, we have a date this Friday evening to go running, I am looking forward to this much, I may switch up my Friday cardio workout for a P90X one and the running will be my cardio!! I’ll let you know how that goes!!!

Weekend News…..

 Happy Monday!!!! I am so ready to start this new week. Forgetting about my last weeks mishaps and focusing on making smarter choices. I feel my mojo coming back…. And I’m loving it!!!! I’m still working on losing the 7lbs that I gained and am happy to see the scale going in the right direction. TOM is peeking his ugly head so I can’t help to wonder if my loss today would have been greater if he weren’t. Either way I’m not dwelling on it, I am just going to keep on moving forward.

This weekend I was so happy it was raining. It gave me the perfect excuse to lay up in bed and catch up on Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries and some great Blogs!!! I also learned that I am definitely not alone during this journey. I read that many of my Blog buddies fell off with eating clean and struggled with getting workouts in just as I did but, what’s different from them is that they made themselves accountable by still Blogging about it. Me, I just stop everything as if it’s going to make things right by me not making myself accountable for my short comings in this weight loss life style! That’s something I’m going to change. I will still Blog even if it’s not something positive about my journey. Shoot, we all know we don’t stick to eating healthy, working out and dropping weight everyday/week. So, it’s time for me to get focused.

(Off topic) Has anyone tried the Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin flavored hot coffee? O.M.G. it’s so delicious. I drink a Medium with 3 pumps of Pumpkin and cream!! It takes me to another world of goodness. I swear to you that I’m an addict. I’ve been drinking those suckers twice a day!! My Goodness!!!

Calorie Burn: 525

Eating was a hot mess that I could have stood working out on both days for an hour plus. What!!!

So, my goals for this week are:

1.      Start Shred it with Weights
2.     work out for an hour a day
3.     Burn 500 + calories
4.     Fight the crave of DD’s Pumpkin Coffee (Tues-Fri)

I think these are doable. I am going to take my measurements tomorrow because I forgot to this morning. I did weigh in which was 182lbs!

Question for you ladies, when measuring your stomach and bust area where and how do you do it? For stomach to you suck in or relax it? For Bust is it right above the bust (meaning chest area) or do you measure from the nipples around? Your feedback is appreciated greatly, thanks!

Back on Track!!

Hey Everyone,
I hope you all are doing and feeling FABULOUS!!!
I am HAPPY to admit that I am finally getting back in the swing of things, sticking to eating clean and staying under my calorie count. Yesterday, I had to go into the office for training and as soon as I hit the first aisle, I was greeted with DD’s Pumpkin muffins, an assortment of bagels and donuts. I picked up my note pad and headed straight for class with my 32oz cup of water and my DD Pumpkin coffee in hand.
We had our first break and I stayed in the classroom and ate my peach. I had a salad for lunch and my homemade parfait for snack. I went to say hello to some of my friends and BAM!!!! Chips and Spinach dip! Now, I did take some chips and dips and by the end of the day consumed 2 servings of each! Bad…but could have been worse. Now, check this out. After training there was cake and ice cream. The cake looked scrumdeliumptious and I wanted to dig in but, kept on walking. For this being my 1st week on top of my eating clean game I think I did great.
Now for my workout report:

Tuesday: 30 Day Shred Level 2 and Level 3
Time: 50 mins
Calorie Burn: 450

Weds: Shred Level 1 & Burn Fat Boost Metabolism
Time: 77mins
Calorie Burn: 760

Thursday: Spin Bike
Time: 40mins
Calories: 410

Friday: Treadmill Walk/Run (I did 3.25 miles on speed 4.0-5.0, my cool down was 4.3 I'm super proud of myself since I haven't ran since July)
Time: 45mins
Calorie Burn: 510

So, I fell short of my goal to working out an hour a day and burning 500 calories! I am going to aim for this goal again but, this time I will reach it. Monday I will be starting the 30 Day Shred with Weights and will be doing a 30 min workout along with it!! I really love the No More Trouble Zones DVD but, I may not do that one being that the SWW will be working my arms out already, I will ride the bike, do P90X Kenpo X or BFBM one of the three. So, here’s to sticking to plan and pushing ourselves to our limit! Have a great weekend!!!

Shred it with Weights!!!!

Hey Everyone!! I hope you all had a safe and happy Labor Day! I did enjoy the day off doing nothing but watching Criminal Minds! J In my defense I did workout and I ate pretty well. So, you know how I wanted to start Insanity yesterday? Well, I found out that Jillian Michael’s is dropping her New Shred it with Weights so of course I ordered it and it should be here this week. I am going to do this program with a mixture of her other programs for 30 Days. I will take measurements, before pictures and all! So, this week I am doing 2 workouts from JM’s collection and trying to get 1 hr of exercise in, burning 500 calories a day!!!
So, if anyone wants to join me in doing the Shred it with Weights it’s being released TODAY and I plan to start it on Monday the 13th.

Take 2!!!!

Okay, I’m back for real this time! I have been super busy at work and that’s when I am able to catch up on Blogs and create new posts. So, I apologize again for my absence. This time I have better news than last time. Well since I’ve been slacking for the past month and a half I’ve gained back 7lbs. I started seriously watching my food intake and working out on Monday the 30th. Since then I’ve lost 1.5lbs with 5.5 more to go to get me back to where I’ve left off.
Monday the 6th I am going to give Insanity another go! I did invest in some Bio Freeze for my knees and will see if that helps! My food hasn’t been the cleanest but, I have been using proportions and staying within my calorie intake. I will be back in the swing of things sooner than later.

So, how has everyone been doing? I can’t wait to catch up on everyone’s Blogs to see what I’ve missed! J I also wanted to say thank you to OverweightinSoCal for the Versatile award. I will post a separate post with all the award details!!! Thank you Hon!!

She's Alive! ALIVE!!!! Muwhaahaa

Hey my Lil Chickadee’s!!! I apologize for my absence but, I have been going 100 miles an hr with thinking and planning and thinking some more. I will tell you all about it.

First, I want to say that I am still doing great with eating clean and working it out!
I didn’t weigh in last week because TOM was here and why let him rain on my parade, right? So, I ignored him and continued to eat clean and workout as normal. No extra workouts this week, No running, still waiting on my partner in crime (Hubby) but, over all I am still on track and talks of getting a treadmill is in the air!! YES!!!!!

I am on Week 6 of P90X and love this Phase. The weight lifting workouts in this phase are no joke. Every other day I am feeling pain from these workouts. Love it! I also FF through the 30 sec breaks in Plyometrics and have been getting some major burn. (51mins=500 calories) oppose to (58mins= 495 calories) I have to keep going, keep my heart rate up, I have no time for water breaks nor does this body!! WHAT!!!!!

So, what have I been thinking and planning about you ask?
My creative juices have been flowing and I have been thinking about writing a children’s book. Why a Children’s Book? Well, I was online buying books for my 10 year old daughter and really didn’t come across anything good. Everything seem to have something to do with Drama Queens, Secret Crushes, Boy’s and ect… stuff I really don’t want her to be focusing on. So, I said why not write something for children in her age group that has nothing to do with stuff like that! I used to write stories with my Sims 2 PC game and got a lot of great ratings on them so, I said why not try it….the kids may like it!!! I’m not doing it to become rich and famous, (though that would be nice) but, want something different for the kids, you know what I mean?
Now, does anyone know anything about publishing? I have no clue how to get my book out there. Any help, suggestions and feed back are always appreciated!

I have so much Blog catching up to do it’s not even funny!!! So bare with me Ya’ll, Izza coming! Take care and have a great week!

Can you Say "OH MYYY GOSH?!?!?!"

I hope everyone had a great Holiday weekend, I know I did and I have the scale to show for it! I already broke my goal with eating clean the whole month of July. It was down hill on July 2nd when I made my goals. What a screw up!!! I stepped on the scale on Sunday and had a 2.2lbs gain! Oh Myyyyy Gosh!!!!
I woke up on Monday (Yesterday) and brushed it off!!! I started back with eating clean and working it out… Hard. This morning I got on the scale and am already down a pound!!! Jiggaaaaa!!!! Can you sing it with me? Jiggaaaaaa…What’s My Mutha Bleepin Name?
I am still feeling great about this month and am so amped to get this weight thang done. I am on Week 4 of P90X, also known as my Recovery week. I skip the Yoga workouts all the time and supplement them with some cardio. I will do Yoga this weekend because, I have the time to do it.

I'm Feeling So LOVED!!!!!

10 Things About Me:

1-       At the age of 10 I moved with my parents, brother and my two younger sisters to the island of St.Maarten in the Netherlands Antillies and lived there for 8yrs!

2-     At the age of 18 I moved back to NJ due to hurricane Luis destroying 80% of the island. My High School was included in the 80%.

3-     I can speak, read and write in Dutch.

4-     I bought my first house at the age of 25. (currently living in it)

5-     I’ve always wanted to learn how to “Street Dance”. You know bust the move like the girl’s from P. Diddy’s “Making the Band”. I have been seriously thinking about taking some kind of Hip Hop dance class.

6-     Though I love wearing Tees and sweats with a fresh pair of kicks! I love dressing up and wearing a Fly pair of heels which show off my calves.

7-     I don’t wear make up. Not that I don’t want to….. I just don’t know how to apply it! L So, any takers on giving me a one on one, feel free!!!!

8-     I think I missed my calling as an Interior Designer! I think that’s why I am so infatuated with the PC game “The Sims 2” I just love decorating their homes. I have to share pictures of my Simmies homes one of these days.

9-     I absolutely hate the Month of July! Even though it’s a month full of family celebrations. My daughter has to leave me to spend time with her sperm donor in VA!!! She leaves on Sunday! L

10-  I am in dying need of getting trees cut down in my yard! I am feeling closed in and it’s time to break free!

Yes, I am a pretty boring person but it is what it is!!!

Hit........ or Miss!!!!

Good Morn-Ting!!!
I completely missed posting this yesterday because, I was pooped. Yesterday was my weigh in and I missed my goal of 175lbs by 2lbs. It wasn’t a complete miss because, in my head when I was setting my goals my hopes were to lose 5lbs per month, which I did! So, I am happy with that, I won’t reward myself with the Zumba DVD’s by Beto Perez but, will adjust my July’s goal to lose 5lbs by July 31st! If I lose 7lbs in July I will reward myself with the Zumba DVD’s plus which ever reward I select for July! Is that fair?

So, yesterday morning I didn’t go running but, I did wake up and hit the Spin bike. I popped one of the DVD’s in and took off pedaling. This DVD was 52 minutes long and it was nothing like me just hopping on and doing my normal pedaling routine. You know pedaling fast at a lighter resistance, than making the resistance harder for a minute, then standing up for a minute…. Uhhhh Uhnnnn!!! This man had me going in the 1st couple of minutes! I didn’t last 20 minutes with Mr. DVD Instructor. He literally kicked my Butt!!! I did ride for 30 minutes but, the last 10 minutes was riding my way!

So, for July I am going to challenge myself.

-         Lose 5lbs in July but, will work hard for 7lbs
-         Build myself up to completing the Spin DVD
-         Eating Clean (No Cheat meals)

After reaching 170lbs I will have reevaluate my plan because, I am working towards my healthy weight of 155lb. So, even though I am so close to my 1st Goal I still have a ways to go!

Wednesday- P90X Arms and Shoulders + Spin Bike (Done)
Thursday- P90X Legs and Back + Insanity Pure Cardio
Friday- Spin DVD + Ab Ripper X
Saturday- Running + TBL Yoga (if no run I will do P90X Kenpo X or Spin)

Am I Copping Out?

Thanks Ladies for your kind words today, it really made me smile! Why do I feel as if I’m the only person that has a bad day? I did make today a better one! I ate clean all the way to dinner which wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t the cleanest. I had 3 ground turkey tacos, with lettuce, Swiss cheese and a dab of salsa. I stayed within my calories and got 15 glasses of water in. I worked out to P90X Plyometric and it kicked my butt today for some reason. I only burnt 455 calories. What’s up with that? :o/

It took me all day to work up my courage to run tomorrow! I always say I’m afraid to run because, of the hurting it puts on my body but, the real reason is…. I’m afraid to run alone. I live in a Rural area of PA and I don’t know about ya’ll but, I don’t take kind to running with bears and wild turkeys. I heard all kinds of stories about people being chased by geese, deer and what have you but, I want to live to tell you mine! With running with a partner at least I’m not alone. So, I tell my husband that I’m going to run in the early morning to get it over with and then weigh in to see if I made my June goal! What does he tell me? “Be careful!! I almost hit a bear coming out of the complex this morning!” My heart just sank. I was really looking forward to running, I built up the courage to just do it and then this. I chose morning because, 1) I can get it over with and 2) when I ran it twice before it was fine! So, maybe they were sleep but, now that Hubby told me about his fiasco this morning has me thinking 10 times before doing it. He did offer to run with me after work and on Saturday morning so, I’m not by myself! I thought that was so sweet of him so, I will be taking him up on that offer and at the same time he can get a workout in too! J It’s a win win situation.

So, tomorrow morning, I will still get up early in the morning and ride the spin bike. I will use the DVD’s that came with the bike to get that Spin Class feel! Ya Know what I’m sayin? So, tomorrow is my weigh in day! Did I reach my June goal of reaching a new low of 175lbs? Stay Tuned because, there’s more to Read!!

Today was a Bad Day.....

I wasn’t prepared at all today. I had lettuce but, no tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers no Nada!! So for lunch I ate the last piece of Cluck U chicken! I basically inhaled it! If that wasn’t bad enough I went to the store after my Zumba class to pick up the rest of the ingredients for a salad to have for dinner. My daughter wanted a cupcake and of course the bakery section was closed so I had to result to the premade cupcakes that they set out in containers. Each container held 6 cupcakes. None of them had just 1 single cupcake in it. I got home washed off the fresh fruit I bought, chowed down on not 1 but 2 cupcakes and then I ate a half of turkey and cheese on a wheat wrap but here’s the kicker. I worked out hard to P90X Chest and Back and then did an hour of Zumba. Why did I sabotage my hard work?

Today I really pushed through P90X, I did my push ups on my toes, 15 of each on the first round, I then did 8 on my toes and 17 on my knees on the 2nd round, I did my heavy pants with 20lbs and 15 reps twice and then did back flies with 10lbs weights and 20 reps twice. I did an amazing job, just to go and mess it up!!!

Today was the last day of Zumba for me, I only burnt 490 calories in the hour which is okay, not the best but, I’ll take it! I’m not going to sign up for another Zumba class because, I didn’t find it challenging enough!!! I am going to get the Zumba DVD’s by Beto Perez….now his Zumba class is a party in itself.

Okay, I’m over it! I have my food planned out for the rest of the week, back to clean, clean eating! There is nothing in the house that can get me off track! I am going to try running on Wednesday and Saturdays. Something different, something that gets my heart rate up and something that will help me reach my goal!

I'm Still Living!!!

Hey Ya’ll!!! I hope all is well with you and hope everyone is staying on track with their eat goods and workout plans. I’ve had a great week! I’ve ate clean, stayed under my max calorie in take, getting my water in and had another 3 days without coffee. (I say that’s a nice accomplishment for me.) J I’ve also been working out hard, trying to shake things up with my body so, I can drop these last few pounds until I reach my 1st HUGE goal of being 170lbs!!! Wooooo Weeeeee!!! After that, I will be setting another goal and working on that but, I will cross that bridge when I get there.

My Workouts for this past week were:

Wednesday- P90X Shoulders & Arms + Insanity Cardio
Thursday- P90X Legs & Back + Spin
Friday- Jillian Michaels Burn Fat & Boost Metabolism + Insanity Cardio Abs
Saturday- Run/Walk 4.4 miles (ran 2 miles straight Ya’ll Woooo Hoooo J )
Today is my Rest day!

This weekend I had my girl friend over and we had a great time. We went food shopping on Friday and had a FANTASTIC run on Saturday morning…I ran for 2 miles straight!!! Yes!!! You heard me right!!! I did the Damn Thang and even ran the hills! You know how big this is for me!!! I hate running but, I am getting so much better at it. I am going to try running 2 days a week. We'll see how it goes!

Yesterday, I had my 1st cheat day in some time so, I went for Cluck U chicken…I had the Honey Fried chicken…1 wing and 1 drum stick, 5 fries and 3 onion rings! J LOL I know so bad but, that mess was so GOOODAH!!!! For real!!! I ate well the rest of the day, oatmeal and triple berries for breakfast, 1 cup of strawberries, 1 med Mocha coffee and the Cluck U!!! I don’t dread it! It could have been worse!! Moving onward and upward!!

So, you guys wanted to know how I made my Meatloaf so, here it is! It is nothing spectacular and no special healthy ingredients. It is what it is!!! Ya know what I’m Sayin?

I used ground beef, 1 whole onion diced, 3 pieces of wheat bread (2 pieces were the heels)1 egg, some Adobo seasoning & about a 1/2 a cup of honey BBQ sauce. I mixed it in real good, formed the loaf, made an "S" on the top with the BBQ sauce and baked it for an hour on 375. 

Today, I watched a great Movie on Lifetime called “Lying to be Perfect”  It’s partially about 3 best friends tired of being overworked and overweight, band together to create the “Cinderella Pact,” vowing to lose pounds by following the advice of their “fairy godmother,”It was really cute.

I’m eating well today but, am feeling so hungry! I need to stay focus for a good weigh in tomorrow! Wish me luck because, a sistah is Hongray!!!! I will be back tomorrow with my weigh in! Meatloaf...It's what's for Dinner!!!!

Hey Everyone!!!
I hope everyone is well, staying on plan, kicking the junk food demons out the door and staying active. Today, I made the best meatloaf I’ve ever made. I had mashed potatoes and corn with it. I had a small proportion which was satisfying. I’m not even going to front I could have ate seconds out of greed but, instead I had a glass of water and sat down for a few and was Gooodah after that!!! After logging my dinner I still had 600 calories remaining. Just to think I was going to do a 2nd workout to make sure my dinner was covered.

Today: P90X- Plyometric (burnt 500 calories)
Wednesday- P90X Arms & Shoulders and maybe Insanity Pure Cardio

That’s What I’m Talkin About…..

Good Morning Everyone out there in Blog Land! I hope you all had a great weekend! Yesterday was my Rest day and this morning was weigh in :Drum Roll Please:………….. a 2.2lbs loss!!! ::DJ Hit the Beat:: (Playing the Club Mix Follow Me)
“Follow Meeee! Follow Meeee Yeeahh!!!” I am now in the 170’s Hallelujah!!! 178.6 to be exact and it’s all down hill from here!!! I am going to continue eating clean, substituting my granola bars and crackers with fresh fruit! I am going to stay getting 12-14 glasses of water in each day! I am going to work my A$$ off during my workouts and push myself with running! I am going to get my 8hrs of sleep because, my body needs it. I am just so FOCUSED now!!!

Today- P90X Chest & Back + 1hr Zumba

I haven’t tackled any more reading of Skinny B, this weekend but, will try later on tonight! I did get some feedback on the book and yes, I will admit the way it’s written is very brutal and to some could be insulting. If you can pick the sense out of the nonsense it is educational…. Then again I’m only on chapter 4!

Better Late Than Never!!!!!

I’m sorry for my lack of Blogging I’ve had a crazy week. Of course a week with staying on track and working out Hard as Heck!!! I’ve been eating clean, getting my water in, working out like a beast and guess what?!?!?! I’ve even slowed down on my coffee intake. Yeahhhhh Boi!!!!!

On Monday I started P90X again! My Girl that I go running with wanted to do it and needed some encouragement and you know me…. I’m all about encouraging. So, here are my workouts from this past week.

Monday – P90X Chest & Back + 1hr of Zumba
Tuesday- P90X Plyometrics
Wednesday- (Missed) P90X workout and did the Elliptical Machine
Thursday- P90X Arms and Shoulders
Friday- (Missed) P90X workout and Ran/Walk on the Treadmill for 20 Mins + 20 Mins on the Elliptical
Today: P90X Kenpo X + Spin

I will do much better next week with P90X being that I don’t have to go into the office!

I started reading this book “Skinny Bitch” by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin and am learning so much!!!
It’s truly a great read…. So far!!!

Goooooood Weekend!!!!

What a great weekend I had. Friday, I was supposed to workout at my jobs gym and tackle the Treadmill, right? I was all dressed and everything but, plans changed and I had to rush home. So, instead of riding my everyday Spin bike, I dropped my bags down, grabbed my daughter and her friend and took them walk/running with me. OMG, these were the laziest 10 year olds I've ever seen. My daughters friend who is over weight, could use the exercise, my daughter could use to exercise to keep active. We just walked to the bottom of the hill and she was already complaining that she was tired. I’m looking at her to see if she was for real. We were walking, not speed walking, just walking and down hill at that. I ran for 3 mins while they walked far behind me I couldn’t concentrate. With me trying to focus on running and making sure they are walking on the side of the road and safe was too much for me. So, I turned back around and took them home. I went back out and sped walk/ran for 45 mins. I was 10 calories short of burning 450 calories. I had to make 40 calories up due to the little slow pokes. I was happy with my come back.

Saturday, I got up early, had my oatmeal with a sprinkle of cinnamon and blueberries. Fed my son and was out the door to meet my girl for our Saturday run.
We ran 2 miles and walked 3. It was a good run. My girl that I run with began running about 3 or 4 months ago so, she has built herself up to the run. It’s still hard for me to run the entire 2 miles without stopping. I didn’t walk, I sped walk when I stopped running. Then we got to the 1st steep hill and she said we are going to run this hill. Now you know I looked at her as if she had 10 heads because, my tail was not going to run it up that hill. Forget that….. she ran it slowly and I cheered her on while I walked it. I was thinking to myself “When is she going to stop for a walking break?!?!?!?” Chick doesn’t know anything about walking break! So, I started running again after we made it over the hill. I maintained then had to stop for a little. My Heart Rate was in the 90’s waaaaaay over my normal high of 86%. I didn’t stop moving but, I was not running I was walking fast trying to get my heart rate under control. I manage to finish that 2 miles. (2.5 if I did the hills) Then we walked around for a cool down. At the end of the trail was a good stretch. She said this to me… “You’re a sprinter right?” At first I didn’t hear her, only the word “sprinter” so, she continued on saying that we were going to sprint this last stretch. Now, I am BEATTTTT I was not trying to sprint anything but, I did! I waited for the go ahead and I was out like Forrest Gump. I dusted her, creamed her, smoked her and to be honest I could have went faster. I felt Great! If you throw a 100 or 200 meter race at me I am ALL GOOD!!!! I am not a cross country runner which my girl is. I will do it but, I’m not good at it. It was some good friendly competition and we both felt great.

Sunday, was my Rest day and if I plan on meeting any goals I've set out for myself, I had better get up and go food shopping because, I was low on my eat goods!
I came back with all of this, some, Tilapia, lean Pork chops Ground Turkey and Tuna! I can’t wait to try this new tea (Sleepytime Vanilla by Celestial) tonight when I’m relaxed in bed. I will be sure to let you know how it tastes.
I ate clean this entire week, worked out really hard, drank at least 14 cups of water and of course you know who’s in town….. TOM!!! I am hoping I am still able to get a loss tomorrow and if not I know I will next week because, I have been doing everything right!

“Look’N Good Leelee!” “OMG!” “Wow!!” “Fantastic!”………..

Were the compliments I got yesterday when walking into the office. As you all know I work from home and yesterday I had to go into the office to mentor a new hire. It has been a couple of months since they’ve last seen me and they couldn’t stop complimenting me! I was elated! No, scratch that, I was Proud!!! Proud, to have come so far and to continue on the right track, for not giving up when I didn’t see the scale drop or when trying on those smaller jeans and still had a muffin top. I still kept going! I still kept pushing through! This reminded me that this journey is a tough one but, it’s a beatable one. I didn’t blink my eyes and become fat and I sure in the name wasn’t going to blink my eyes and become skinny. This added fuel to my fire and just boosted my drive to become more fit!

I was happy to see all my friends at work and to catch up on everything, Oh….. and to of course Mentor! I was also happy to see how many co-workers/friends are on a healthier way of living. Most of them have thinned out and were walking around with a healthy snack in their hand, huge bottles of water, working out on their breaks…. It made me smile, a lot! It made being in the office where there’s always some kind of temptation, a cake walk. I packed a spinach salad for lunch, healthy snacks consist of a cup of cherries, strawberries, kiwi and ½ a cup of cottage cheese and 14 glasses of water. Dinner was oxtail and a half a cup of black beans and rice with a small salad, Caribbean style!

My co-workers were going out for drinks and invited me to go but, I kindly declined and went to the gym at work. I was met with my BESTIE…..the Elliptical Machine. OMG how I missed thee! Well, she wasn’t happy to see me because, I whipped her tail! I did 35 mins and burnt 455 calories and this was the reading from my HRM not the machine itself. The machine was 40 calories higher. I live by my HRM and that’s the number I went with. I also did some back lat pull downs (3 sets of 12 reps at 70lbs) and then did some rows (3 sets of 12 reps at 70lbs) then I did some triceps extensions (2 sets of 10 at 25lbs). I was so happy I chose working out over going out for drinks because, I really felt great afterwards. I’ll leave partying for the weekends! I am focusing on eating clean and being faithful with a hard workout during the week and have been able to stay on track with this.

I gotta go get ready to head into the office now. Today’s work out is the Treadmill. Dun! Dun! Dunnnnn!!! Will I be able to overcome my fear of running? Stay Tuned….There’s more to See!

Zumba! Zumba! Zumba!

Monday was my first Zumba class and I absolutely loved it!!! It was level 1 but, it really gets your heart rate up and helps you get the moves down packed. The music was a nice change from what I listen to on my Ipod everyday!

I weighed in on Tuesday and am so HAPPY to say I’m 180.8lbs! Okay, more so 181 but, it still shows 180, right? Right? Well I have been eating clean all week so far and am looking forward to seeing goodbye to the 180’s and hello sweet 170’s!

Monday- Zumba (Thanks Miss H)
Tuesday- Spin
Wednesday- Strength Training Upper Body + Spin

Thursday and Friday I’m going to be working in the office so I will use their gym right after work and do 35 mins on the Elliptical and 25 mins on the Treadmill (2min walk 1 min Run) That should set me straight for this weekend!

Check In!!!!

Wow, it’s been a minute since I’ve last posted. Everything has been going well. Still working hard and staying focused on my new lifestyle.

Wednesday- Insanity Power & Resistance
Thursday- Rest
Friday- Arms (weights) Walk/Jog
Saturday- Rest
Sunday- Spin + JM’s Yoga Meltdown

On Thursday I was a chaperone for my daughter’s 5th grade class to Dorney Park. It was a hot day and I was dying to get in the water with them but, didn’t. I enjoyed the rides and walking was a breeze. I even made smart food choices. I had an egg & cheese wakeup wrap with a med coffee (cream & No sugar) for breakfast, pineapple for snack, a 6inch meatball sub from subway, sun chips and Ice tea. The rest of the day I drank water. I turned down all the ice cream, cotton candy, skittles and Icies. I was proud!

Friday, I lifted weights and ate clean. I drove to Jersey to meet my Girl for our weekly run. She wasn’t feeling up to the run which I was happy about b/c I don’t like running… just the results I get from it. Crazy I know!! But we sped walk 5 miles in 75 mins & burnt 750 calories. I was content with that.

Saturday, I decided to rest again because from all of the working out and on the go movement I was tired! So, I relaxed yesterday and did just okay with eating. I am going to ride the Spin bike & do JM’s Yoga Meltdown today, I will eat clean as well. Tomorrow is weigh in!  Looking forward to a loss! Let’s Get it!!!
